Graduate students - we understand that for some reason, the UCSC Administration has been fueling paranoia regarding the AFSCME strike tomorrow and Wednesday.  Please note that there will be NO STRIKE on UCSC's campus.  Instead, read below for instructions on how to get involved with the picket lines at UCSF!

***JOIN AFSCME 3299 Workers on THE PICKET LINES!!!***

AFSCME 3299 patient workers are striking for safer staffing levels and better patient care, and living wages. 13,000 workers will be setting up massive picket lines at the UC medical centers, and health center workers at the university campuses will be joining them at the lines. 

What can students do to support? Come out to join our picket lines, and to volunteer if you can. Below are key times and days for the medical centers, but they'll be picketing from before sunrise till after sunset, so feel free to just show up, grab a picket, and join in! There will be marching, music, food, and serious solidarity.

UCSF:

- May 7am picket and noon rally on May 22nd. There will also be morning picketing at the UC Berkeley health center from 6:30am-10:00am. Buses leave UCSC and UCB to join the strike daily. Respond to this email to reserve a seat! There will be a fashion booth and a special guest!

UCLA: 

- Students should join campus workers who are turning out both days from 3-6pm at Ronald Reagan Medical Center right near campus.

UCI:

- Students should show up at 10am for a march and stick around for an 11:30amrally.

UCSD

- Students are encouraged to join early pickets. Contact MV for more details.

- Also come out to rallies both days at 11:30am.

UCD:

- Picketing from 5am to 11pm. Rallies at 1pm and 6pm.
